Schools Chancellor Henderson relaxes evaluation rules for some veteran teachers

Its no surprise that over 200 Dc teachers were fired due to there low IMPACT testing scores when in fact the chancellor of the school system was allowing most veteran teachers to score low on these tests, causing them to no longer be qualified to teach at a high standard. In previous years “teachers judged “minimally effective” two years in a row were subject to dismissal. While about 550 received that rating last year, out of nearly 4,200 teachers citywide. This continues to back up the publics claim that Washington DC has the worst school system because of the lack of quality teachers. Society looks at DC and automatically thinks about how bad the system is because of the lack of effort teachers put into the kids which then carries over to why kids dont want to put in the work to be succesful. This correlates with “The Meaning of Blackness in Network News” discussion of prototypes, "where people have a habitual way of thinking that helps people make sense of a complicated and uncertain world" leading many people in society to stereotype African Americans as not caring about education especially when there teachers could carless about how much effort they put into them
