Gang Violence in DC

As many people probably have heard, during the annual Caribbean Festival there was a gang related shooting. The prime suspect is Terry Jimenez, who since march has been under the supervision of DC Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency. In my opinion the violence that happened during the Festival is directly the fault of CSOSA, it was their job to keep an eye on Jimenez. In fact Terry was asked to leave the city for his own safety and the CSOSA was supposed to keep tabs on him and make sure he stayed out of the District. Then approximately a month ago he went missing until he turned up back in the District. In my opinion it is the job of local government like CSOSA to keep tabs on the dangerous individuals like Mr. Jimenez. The violence in late June is a direct effect of that agency's mistake, unfortunately it was a fatal one for Robert Fisher who was the victim of Mr. Jimenez's violence. The situation has even caught the attention of city council member Jim Graham. Graham said of the situation "While we had the power to send him there we did not have the power to track him while he was there." I agree with the Council Member that this situation must be addressed so that violence like this can be supposed.
